Soda Springs Station was built in 1926 as the Soda Springs Hotel and was converted in the 1980s to condominiums. It is in Soda Springs, CA, along the Union Pacific (originally Central Pacific) mainline in the Donner Pass area. Units and outside decks feature views of the tracks, as well as the usual creature comforts. 12 to 20 trains pass each day, including the EB and WB California Zephyrs, stack trains, auto racks, grainers, and mixed manifests. Norden snowsheds, Tunnel 41, Historic Summit Tunnel and China Wall all within two miles. The historic railroad town of Truckee (and CA Zephyr stop) is 15 minutes away. Beautiful mountain scenery in all directions. One hour from Reno airport, one and half hours from Sacramento airport.
