Nice Shot , I just cant understand this Rail Grinding though. Most of the Rail on the Tehachapi line is Pretty new ! But that's why im not payed to make those decision's.

Thanks for the kind comment. While at the loop, I did see some real bad pitting just before the switch by tunnel 10. I found out the machine was there, just after the I left on Sunday morning, after Thanksgiving. Rich

I found out another thing , The UP bought some Foriegn rail , I guess it is from KOBE steel in Japan or China. That's what they used on the Tehachapi Loop. Maybe it need's to be grinded already , Could be cheap stuff. It just seem's to Early after a major MOW project.

You are right, I looked at the rail with another person and swore it was stamped kobe. And it was showing 141 lb rail.
