Western Railroad Discussion > Red Goat update......Date: 03/26/06 20:46 Red Goat update...... Author: hawkeye Sitting at Hill AFB, Utah this afternoon. I almost missed it on the way home this afternoon. Photo was taken from I-15 hence the fence. At least one of the tracks in the foreground was part of the former Bamberger Railroad between Salt Lake City and Ogden. The U.P. uses the former Bamberger line to service Hill AFB and the RR repair/rebuild shop there.

Date: 03/27/06 19:06 Re: Red Goat update...... Author: potb101 I've heard that Hill AFB is where the Army does its locomotive rebuilding. I believe these units are getting new batteries? Perhaps that's why they are there. I believe only the 6000 and 6001 are actually at Hill AFB.
