Across the divide
Author: qnyla

With the wind howling and clouds mostly blotting out the sun, a hot eastbound Z train is approaching the Continental Divide west of Gonzales, NM yesterday afternoon behind BNSF 4931 and two other motors.

Nice one John! All too familiar territory for me. I went westbound through there around 11:00pm last night and the wind was still pretty bad.

Excellent! It is interesting how the horizontal strata carries through every element of the picture, the train, the track, the background hills and the foreground flats.
