Western Railroad Discussion > UP West Colton Track WorkDate: 11/20/07 15:03 UP West Colton Track Work Author: cabcar Here's a few more from WC.
First a close up of the crews working on a switch. A wider shot of the scene, with an in-bound pulling off the by-pass track, and a switch job below. Lastly, the Ballast train from yesterday, tied down in the Ice Deck, at Loma Linda. --Robert Date: 11/20/07 16:05 Re: UP West Colton Track Work Author: P5r24 Still Hankeren to know what the fresh grading is for next to the ballon track (middle photo - in-bound stacker)
Any takers out there without getting side tracked? help me TOPCOATSMITH help me - LOL! That's what gummed up the works today and the Alhambra sub was a parking lot, but what else is new?
Hopefully Fredo and I can get the 3 tie cars to C of I tomorrow (see your thread below).-BMT Date: 11/20/07 17:28 Re: UP West Colton Track Work Author: cabcar UPNW2-1083 Wrote:

And to make matters worse, the DS had to flag every train by the signal at CP SP491 and CP SP535-Pepper. That was going on all day, and I think it still is. It was a good day for train watching though. :D --Robert Date: 11/20/07 21:47 Re: UP West Colton Track Work Author: SCAX3401 P5r24 Wrote:

It would allow thru-trains to pass thru while a slow moving manifest pulls out of the yard and heads up the Mojave Subdivision. Since the curve on the existing bypass track is somewhat sharp, the new earth-moving would allow for a slightly less sharp curve.
