SLRG 459 departs Walsenburg this morning with steam in tow, halfway to La Veta. At La Veta, set out the 20 due to some loading problems on the EMD.

First two leaving La Veta, third, barely moving uphill near Occidental.

At Sierra, west of Sierra. Had to head home to go to work. Somebody else will finish the story.

Great sequence of shots. One should be IOTD.

SLRG 18 & 20 Caught During Ground Blizzards
Author: cozephyr

SD45X fails to mention the extremely icy and snow packed roads he overcame to accomplish these fine images. The snowstorm overnight had left southeastern Colorado with fresh snow which turned into ground blizzards most of the morning with bitter wind chill. Brrrrr!

He tried climbing a hill in a 4x4 but snow and ice defeated that effort. However, his efforts paid off in many other ways. Well done! Wow do you post fast!

Mine will have to await additional disk space on my humble computer.
