A patched UP Motor?

Watching Uncle Pete pick up cars from Kyle today and the SD stopped in front of me and it looks like it has been patched (re-numbered). histroy?

From the outline of the old numbers it looks like it was the 6348 before being renumbered.-BMT

UP's Renumbered SD60 Fleet

Correct, UP2503 = UP6348.

All but three of the UP fleet of 279 SD60M's (two units wrecked/retired) have been patch or repaint renumbered into the UP 2240-2520 series. The remaining un-renumbered patch booth "scragglers" are the UP6106, UP6165 and UP6341.

Of those three, UP 6341 is at EMDI London for an ECO conversion.

Looks more like 6328 under the paint.

Nope, 100% sure she's the UP 6348 under there. That is one of UP's infamous low-point numeral typeface #4's barely legible under the peeling patch...

Yes, I see now. The point does look a lot like a 2 unless you look super close.
