Maybe on the Blythe-Ripley district, which by the way is going to be torn up. Date: 02/17/10 02:53 Re: AT&SF 208918 Sleeper Whereisit and history Author: Evan_Werkema When I photographed that carbody back on June 7, 1994, I labeled the slide "along I-25 south of San Marcial, NM." In terms of present population centers, that would be somewhere between San Antonio and Truth or Consequences, NM, probably about exit 115.
By the way, I believe that's actually 203918. Compare the third digit to the sixth and you'll see that they are different. The ATSF 208XXX series work equipment cars were tool cars (mostly gondolas, if my handful of 80's-era photos are representative) while 203XXX series cars were "bunk and boarding" cars. |
