Mike Henderson, NV Date: 07/23/10 13:24 Re: OISRM-23 via Salt Lake - attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: shortlineboss My UP info shows fuel at Provo, UT, 1000 mile inspection at Elko, NV, but no mention regarding Donner or FRC.
Mike Root Madras, OR Date: 07/23/10 13:25 Re: OISRM via Salt Lake-attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: GrandeGold Thanks, Mike! I spotted a train of aluminum hoppers on the Evanston Sub last Tuesday morning westbound. How many train sets do they plan to roster?
I'll keep an eye out for the loads to arrive. I may head out to Tooele Valley to catch it. Do you know if by chance it's running via Provo? James Date: 07/23/10 13:26 Re: OISRM-23 via Salt Lake - attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: GrandeGold shortlineboss Wrote:

Originates at Comstock Mountain Lion mine near Cedar City, UT going to Richmond. CA. Should be 2 trains per week. Utah Southern Railroad is shortline that handles loads from the mine on the Comstock branch.
Mike Root Madras, OR Date: 07/23/10 19:03 Re: OISRM via Salt Lake - attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: SierraRail Mike, I don't see how you can have 2 trains per week out of Iron Springs with the current turn-around times (Iron Springs-Richmond-Iron Springs). With the current 150 cars, once a week trains is pushing things. Just seems that you would need 300 cars in your pool (at least) for that type of volume? Unless U.P. picks up the pace drastically, you'll need more cars.
Date: 07/23/10 19:11 Re: OISRM via Salt Lake - attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: shortlineboss The schedule calls for 2 trains per week. There are some issues that will be resolved that hopefully will allow this schedule to work. Another loco was added at Milford.
They should be able to make the turn in 6 days. Mike Root Madras, OR Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/23/10 19:29 by shortlineboss. Date: 07/23/10 22:41 Re: OISRM via Salt Lake-attn Mr. Belmont and all Author: UP1989 Just went by my house about 15 mins ago. Had UP 5717 and 7206 (in that order) on the point with 6583 as DPU. Somewhere along the trip, it dropped 5539. Went into the hole at Mesa to wait for a late #5.
