Rear end memories
Author: photobob

As a westbound rolls through Truckee the conductor prepares to grab up the trains orders. Another crew member takes in the view from the rear on a spring day in 1962. Aside from giving a wave to the head end crew a smiling face and a wave was always expected at the end of a passing train. The feeling just isnt the same as you watch the rear of some containers rolling off into the distance. I was wondering if any of you photographers out there have a FRED section on your website.

Just like a skirt, its not the FRED that's important--its what its attached to that matters.

Yikes Bob, I have some great ones but I can't print this kind of stuff here. The discussion board police would ban me forever.

Forty one years later the gas station is still there ( I think its a Chevron), only pumping 2.49 unleaded instead of .23 leaded gas. Times have indeed changed...

Maybe if they started painting them or something, like they use to do with fire hydrants... At least then each one would be unique :-) Still don't know if it would be worth wasting a shot though.

Who would nominate brown as an appropriate color on a rear end?
