Utah Southern SD40-2 3001, Iron Springs, UT. Then USR 3000 (both ex-UP), Iron Springs, UT. USR 3100 SD40T-2 (ex-D&RGW?) spotting the Comstock iron ore mine tipple. All three shots, 4/27/11. Circle Four Farms SW10 (ex-UP rebuilt SW9) 1200, switching at Milford, UT, 4/27/11. Rail Scale Inc. WWBX 199918 scale test car at Sharp, UT, 4/27/11. Town gone, D&RGW main rerouted (eventually) into the tunnel in foreground shadow. It was a real rush job done in amazingly short time! 4/28/11
A new "turntable"! At the Tie Fork Rest Area on US 6, west slope of Soldier Summit, UT. Ex-D&RGW main on the slope above. The Grande tunnel motors had smaller tanks as I recall.
