Western Railroad Discussion > Ex-PRR Keystone Power Car on BNSF STLTULDate: 12/28/11 22:18 Ex-PRR Keystone Power Car on BNSF STLTUL Author: RiverMP21 Heads up from St. Louis west, the former HEP Power Car built by Budd in 1956 for the PRR Keystone train will be the head car on the STLTUL-30, albiet riding on a flatcar and not its own wheels.

Watched it derail one time switching the set of cars, the flanges are so sharp it is damn near impossible to get threw a switch!

It was very unique, and akin to the X-plorer, Aerotrain, and Roger Williams Budd cars.... i.e. New ideas in Passenger railroading from the late 50's/early 60's. I rode it once in the 1960's..
