Ok, back on May 12, 2012 BNSF 7512, Matt Schimmel and I made a visit up to BNSF's Marceline Sub in La Plata Missouri. After leaving Moscow Mills Missouri around 5:30am the trip was on. We started off in La Plata and worked our way west towards Ethel Missouri. The day started off cool, cloudy and some rain but it was our only day to do it. So thanks for taking a look.

1: BNSF 5100 and BNSF 5180 leads the M AMSGAL1 11A E past the La Plata Amtrak station in the rain.

2: BNSF 679 and BNSF 5174 H NTWTUL1 11A W meets BNSF 7582 Q LACCHI6 09K E by Santa Fe Lake near La Plata.

3: Amtrak 817 and Amtrak 15 leads #4 Southwest Chief by Santa Fe Lake just east of La Plata. In the photo is Matt and BNSF 7512 and his a$$ crack.

4: BNSF 7503 leads train Q CHILAC6 12K W after meeting Amtrak #4 by Santa Fe Lake near La Plata.

5: And the point of this is?

6: And here comes the rain, BNSF 7375, BNSF 5001 and UP 5215 leads train H GALTUL9 12A W near La Plata. Why is UP power showing up on BNSF trains?

7: BNSF 5830 crosses over one of the three small bridges near Elmer Missouri with train Z NBYWSP9 10L E.

8: BNSF 6716 and UP 6182 and two other GE units leads train Z STOWSP6 10L E near Elmer Missouri.

9: BNSF 6749 and two other GEVOS leads another stacker west under one of the many wooded bridges over the transcon in northern Missouri near Ethel.

2: BNSF 4578 leads train Z FRSCHI7 10A E near Ethel Missouri.

3: BNSF 7844 and another GE unit leads a stack train under the few remaining signal bridges left on BNSF Marceline Sub near Ethel Missouri.

4: BNSF 5282 leads train V SNTBLU1 10A E towards Ethel Missouri.

5: BNSF 4163 leads another train H BARGAL9 10A east towards Ethel Missouri.

6: BNSF 7614 works as DPU on train G PILHER9 11A west near Ethel Missouri.

7: BNSF 7834 leads an east bound freight M NEWGAL4 10A near Ethel Missouri.

8: A crappy roster shot of an engine you don't see to often on this line anymore, BNSF 534 GE B40-8W.

9: BNSF 7212 blurs by at track speed with train Z SBDWSP7 10A east between Ethel and Elmer Missouri.

10: BNSF 5139 and BNSF 5326 leads a west bound loaded rail train through Elmer Missouri.

11: BNSF 7300, BNSF 7001, BNSF 6998 and BNSF 6847 leads a west bound stacker through La Plata Missouri.

12: Another shot of BNSF 7001 and 6998 on it's maiden run west through La Plata Missouri on May 12, 2012.

13: BNSF 6828 and BNSF 4529 leads a east bound vehicle train passes the doomed signal bridge in La Plata Missouri.

14: BNSF 7814 leads three other GE's past this interesting sign in La Plata Missouri.

15: BNSF 7829 leads a east bound stack through La Plata Missouri on May 12, 2012. This will be the last train of the day before we leave, all together we seen around 26 trains.

Nice shots! As to answer your question about UP power on BNSF. BNSF is leasing out UP power for a while.

I was down in that area during the Memorial Day weekend. Got about twenty each
day, and missed a bunch, you always do, when I was moving.

I skipped the bridge just west of Ethel with the signal bridge. You can see from
Jeff's excellent shots just how tree'd in this spot has become. In one of them, you
can't even see the second track!!!
