Western Railroad Discussion > UP Yuma sub mow windowsDate: 05/30/12 19:30 UP Yuma sub mow windows Author: fbe The UP is replacing every bridge and culvert along the Salton Sea. Trains are held for a few hours late morning to mid afternoon. Pretty good traffic at Niland when it breaks loose around 1600 if today 05/30 is any example. It looks like this project could go on into next years. From all the dirt work perhaps a pipeline was buried between the tracks and hwy 111.
About 100 degrees on the Yuma sub today. Posted from Android Date: 05/30/12 19:45 Re: UP Yuma sub mow windows Author: WAF fbe Wrote:

Yes, crews sitting on parked trains. Even with working A/C this is another good reason to be retired. Nice to see some yellow units, though. I am finding lots of freight cars to add to the collection as well. Posted from Android Date: 05/30/12 22:01 Re: UP Yuma sub mow windows Author: SCAX3401 fbe Wrote:

The one going culvert and bridge replacement project along with all the dirt work is in preparation for the adding of a second main track in the area. They have already added a second span next to the large Salt Creek Bridge at the east end of Ferrum. Expect this work to continue west to Coachella and east to the present west end of double track near Yuma. |
