Western Railroad Discussion > UP 844 Denver Cheyenne - Denver Today

I'm a little surprised at how few shots of the UP 844 have been posted on TO... Whether on the Western, Steam, or Passenger forums there have been very few (and a couple of us who were out noted the lack of photographers or cars pacing the train). I won't beat a dead horse but really enjoyed my day of practicing for retirement by spending the whole day shooting on the UP Greeley Sub, mostly north of Greeley. After the 844 went by, there were quite a few freights running that helped entertain me in the 90+ degree heat.

Photo #1- The UP 844 crosses the north switch Plateville in northern Colorado on a beautiful morning.

Photo #2- As the afternoon progressed, the thunderstorms began to build but mostly stayed north and west of me. The train in the picture is the UP 5784 north as it tops the hill leaving Nunn at a station named 'Dover'. I had no idea there was a station there until I looked in my Altamont timetable...

Despite the heat I thoroughly enjoyed my self and I'm feeling I'm ready for retirement... Coming this Tuesday!

Great pics what camera and lens are you shooting with?

Both shots were taken with a Canon T3i, the first one with a 100 - 400mm L lens, the second one was with a 55 - 250mm EF-S lens. thanks!
