Easy, the GPs are dead in consist...

112 total axles, 17,600 HP (from the 4 GEs), 3097 tons (from the GPs).

Are these units going to be scrapped? If so that would be a bummer.I really liked those GP30s.

Would imagine Transcon the whole way to Chicago. Train's location at 23:41 MST was Cherokee, AZ [MP 473.7] (between Kingman & Flagstaff, AZ) on BNSF's Seligman Sub.

All of these units are showing to be set out at Galesburg, so maybe a trip to Relco in Albia, IA is in their future?

Running all those dead units with DPU? Interesting!

My understanding that that many dead units hauled conventionally with headend power would be difficult to handle.

Why? They're essentially just a bunch of 125 ton box cars. Just trainline them, and run it like a freight train.

It's quite possible that CSX won't take a train like this, so the units will be 'set-out' in Galesburg and then trickle over to CSX over a number of manifest trains running between Galesburg and CSX.

CSX did handle nine of them in one train last year:
