Tehachapi Question

Drove to Vegas on Monday the 5th, and home on Friday the 9th. Did not see a single train over the pass. What gives?????

Must be Tehachapi...every time I go through there I see very few to no trains.

There is a work window every Monday, and as for Friday that would have been bad luck.

Did you go through on a Friday afternoon? Afternoons can be slow any day of the week...

Monday is a slow day and a lot of work windows.
This passed Friday this is what went by Mojave.

1. BNSF S 1020 7676
2. UP N 1055 5939 This coal train came off the BNSF and up the Lone Pine branch.
3. UP S 1120 5380
4. BNSF S 1140 7216
5. UP S 1250 5325
6. BNSF N 1340 5298
7. BNSF N 1440 4113
8. UP N 1530 7633
9. UP S 1700 5939 Empy coal off Lone Pine to BNSF.
10.UP S 1730 5462
11.BNSF S 1800 7490
12.BNSF S 1830 5426
13.UP N 1630 2486 LOP53 to Monolith

Friday was a slow day.

Yup. I try to catch the "morning rushhour" between dawn and 10 am whenever I go there. Even on a Monday, there's usually a Z train or two (BNSF or UP) that has to get through before the work window. One section of either the QRVWC or MWCRV usually shows up in the afternoon, unless it stalled, then you get no trains - this can happen quite often.
