Coast Starlight at Shasta Retreat a few minutes ago
Author: photobob

The Sacramento River was rolling pretty fast through Shasta Retreat this morning after last nights downpour. Amtrak was a couple of hours late after some some slow running along the river on the lookout for rock slides.

The rain we've been getting here in CA has been really something. Hasn't rained this hard in quite some time. I'm not surprised at all that the Starlight is running late. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been annuled due to all of the mud slip-sliding around the hills up there.

I'm riding that train February 1, and this will be the third or fourth time on it and I am really looking forward to it. Running late is a good thing for me so that we have breakfast before getting to Emeryville!!

I assume that's No. 14, as No. 11 would be more than a couple of hours late if it was at this location.
