A few random shots over Thanksgiving
Author: SpaceTrain

Been awhile since I posted some photos from down Galveston way. Many things get in the way of having fun, especially when you have a new camera to play with (Nikon D7000). But the Sunday after Thanksgiving the weather was great and I had nothing else to do.

Alas, neither did many trains...

So, this is what I found that day. The first is a UP/Herzog ballast train coming down the UP Galveston Sub heading into Texas City where they were to tie up. They dropped the ballast from MP 16 to MP 26, but my camera was at home when I caught them so no cool ballast drop shots (although it was neat to watch the precision with which they can drop that ballast).

Second and Third are two views of the GAT-CRP train as it heads north on the TWC/ABS section of the BNSF Galveston Sub near MP 12 heading to Algoa.

Enjoy,
Roger
