Western Railroad Discussion > Pretty bad storm blowing here in the Pacific Northwest.

Blowing badly here north and east of Seattle, also south of Olympia. Three feet of new snow in Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie and no passenger service south to Portland owing to mud on the move. To add to the confusion, as I write this, it is bright sunshine here in Tacoma with murder on the western horizon and around to the south. Going to be a difficult few days.

portland sub got hammered with rain & wind last night & snow is in the forecast throughout the week. 6.21.3's all morning around dodson/multnomah falls.

No rain but gusts to 80 around the Kennewick WA area sure has lots of trees down, and if you know our area, there are not a lot of trees to blow down. My fence took a hit, just waiting for it to stop to put it back up if I can.

Cheyenne is experiencing some of that wind today with gusts to 65 and higher. Supposed to have a chance of snow but aren't we supposed to have clouds to get that? Haha

Come on, Bob...Everybody knows it doesn't snow in Cheyenne. it's just snow blowing across the state on its way to Colorado!

65 mph winds in Cheyenne? So a nice calm day then?

Understand Amtrak bussed passengers from No. 11 from Tacoma to Portland, and they turned around No. 14 in Portland to head south. Have family on board and they say it's running on time.

Actually nothing stops it from the Canadian prairies down to Kansas. After that its rain.

A mudslide on the BNSF in Everett, WA took out a Z train and the mainline tonight, possibly another at Nisqually where the UP sent brand new GEVO's down onto the highway a few years ago in a side swipe. 3+ feet of new snow in some places of the Cascades!

Well, at least there is some winter in some parts of the US.

I think you might have just put the whammy on us with that...Forecasts for five inches in Omaha tomorrow, and something in Chicago for Thursday. As long as the roads are clear by Saturday or Sunday, bring it on!
