Us here in neighboring northern Lassen county are expecting up to 5 feet above 4000ft and I'm at 4116. At least I'll hopefully get to see a BNSF spreader!

CalTrans has a RoadCam and weather station near the BNSF Gateway Sub at the Rest Area called Bogard, anyways it's showing a healthy -1.5 degrees F a few minutes ago. Welcome Mr. Winter.

Has not been real accurate here in central Oregon this week. (bend)

Weather Service was screaming blizzard conditions Sunday morning through Monday PM with expectations of 1 to 3 feet of snow.

we got a ton of rain Sunday and Monday then a inch of snow on Monday afternoon.

glad it was fricking rain cuz I'd still be plowing snow out of the parking lot if we got what the weather service forecast.

Today's Satellite photo compilation is showing the storm staying to the north. The puffy white clouds that indicate cold air don't seem to be hitting northern California.

We'll have to see how this plays out, it sure looked good for a while.

This morning's satellite photo compilation looks pretty ominous:

The folks in town say that when the general flow of precipitation lines up with the Sacramento River Canyon, Dunsmuir gets a big snow dump. It looks like it's lining up. The storied flow also has a typical crossing of the Clear Lake/ Eel river areas. This one still doesn't look 'cold', they had been calling for snow at 500ft, that's plenty cold enough.

The forecast Discussion talks about smaller storms stalling in the area and building up the accumulation. They mention a rising snow level but don't forecast it after that. It's pretty well known it doesn't have to be 'cold' for snow, usually around 35 degrees in the general area.
