This Right Might "Make" the 2013 Winter Wheat Crop

The computer models are indicating a rainy period coming up for the central and southern Plains. http://meteorologicalmusings.blogspot.com/2013/03/much-needed-rain-next-seven-days.html

Both primary forecast models, especially the European, are showing a set up where heavy rains may fall from about days 8 to 13 over the heart of the winter wheat belt in addition to the rains forecast on the map for the next seven days.

That could be money in the bank for many growers, railroaders, and the people who rely on them. (Or eat just about anything in the grocery.)

Today's Omaha forecast was about a skosh less than half right but we'd gladly take
half the forecast precipitation.

The winter wheat is starting to poke up. It's looking very good from what I have seen. While the rain is welcome, we do need some dry spots so we can get the Reston the crops planted this spring.
