Does anyone know of any restaurants with a view of the tracks, preferably mainline or good yard views, between Portland and Salem, OR?

Carl's Jr & Denny's, in Canby, OR both have good views of the UP Brooklyn Sub

There are 2 or 3 others such as Rice Time, and the Elm Street Café.
I don't know their names,
but there are a bunch on Front St.in Woodburn also. Mostly Mexican food.

window booth at Ram's pub in Salem OR has a view of the station and mainline. pretty good drafts and food.

same with, Canby Station, I think that is the name of the place on the "west" side of the line, near the south
end of town.

and I know, the wrong direction but I enjoy Multnomah Falls Lodge and a window booth......

NO reason to eat without a view!

Topaz Bistro in Hubbard, great food & views!

Mike's Drive-In, Milwaukie.

The best one in Canby, Elm Street...later Canby Grand Central Station recently closed. The Mini Chef Restaurant in Canby (west side of track..north end of downtown) has a good view of the UP main.

Denny's can't be beat UNLESS it is on a Friday afternoon as the OPR interchange setout completely blocks the view of the main...any other time is ok!

Thanks fellas! I forgot about Mikes in Milwaukie. Great food and a great view.

Dick, I've been in a booth at Denny's on Friday when you conveniently kicked a centerbeam to the north leg of the wye to obstruct my view of an upcoming northbound! :^)

Damn....I hate it when that happens! Musta been a fluke...normally the only thing that leg is used for is tying up the power over the weekend and it's always far enough east so as not to block MY view when eating breakfast!

We'll be more careful in the future!
