Should FWWR be renamed the NAFTA railroad?
Author: tx_trainman54

One would sure think so during the past 24hrs here around Dublin Texas. Two inbound sets of power back to back yeilded some very interesting lash-ups for us shortline folk here in the sticks west of Fort Worth. Some of these are in addition to what my friend Texasfireman caught yesterday in the nasty weather. Before anyone asks, the structure in the background of the first few pics is an old burned out grain elevator thats yet to be torn down.

NS SD70M-2 2746 is the trailing unit on the second set of power.

I guess being on a shortline 70 miles west of the Metroplex, we,re not doing too bad. After todays CN unit, I have now seen all 7 class 1s helping with this frac sand operation. The three main players are CP Rail, KCS, and host Fort Worth & Western.

I don't really care for when modelers go overboard on weathering equipment, who get cute with scenes of burning or dilapidated buildings, and especially those who don't follow any specific prototype when selecting equipment for their railroad. They just go and buy whatever equipment is on sale and lash them together on the layout...

oh, wait a minute, this is not the Model Railroading Board.
