Darn, I missed it! Looks like some extra engines to haul the PVs, which they frequently do and it mystifies me-two P42s can haul the 40+ car Auto Train just fine.

I was in builder Friday and they were on rear into Portland not sure where added but around kallispell

Auto Train is on a route with no serious grades. The Starlite encounters grades of over 2.2%.

They were added in Whitefish,MT. This was the event: http://www.rootsontherails.com/2014-trips-dave-alvins-west-of-the-west-grand-circle . Cars came in on the Builder and were here about 24 hours before leaving. Saw them from the overpass over the railyard while on my way to town last week. Wished I'd had the time to take some photos. ~Mary in Whitefish,MT~
