I want to speculate the road crews operate between Los Angles, Colton, Bakersfield and where to the East is the next crew change point?

Yuma, AZ. on Sunset Route; Yermo, CA. on the LA&SL.

Bakersfield to West Colton, Bakersfield to Los Angeles, San Luis Opispo to Los Angeles, Bakersfield and SLO are home terminals. In the old days, prior to 1973 and ID Runs, It was Bakersfield to Palmdale, Palmdale to Indio, Indio to Yuma, now it’s West Colton to Yuma.

Well yes, there are trains that come down the Cutoff and turn east to Yuma and points east. Is that what you’re asking?

The most common ones-
near daily, a Benicia or Milpitas empty auto rack repo, ABEEPR (most common)/AOASPX/ABESPX/ABENGR/AMIEPR/AMINGR
weekly on Saturday or Sunday (if it doesn't go via Cheyenne and Pocatello) IDITAX repo of empty Evergreen containers

There are some moves from Las Vegas way (LA&SL) that cross over at Silverwood or Keenbrook to the Mojave Sub, then go east on the Yuma Sub (ballast, coal, cement and empty auto racks).
