Western Railroad Discussion > FerroMex's head North, in the clouds:{Date: 04/23/14 19:44 FerroMex's head North, in the clouds:{ Author: SP8595 As seems what has always been the case here lately in Colorado, the nice stuff runs when it is in total cloud cover! Oh well, nature of the game I guess:}
Today, Northbound BNSF Grain empties X ELPSTE3-21 ran up the Joint line with a quartet of FerroMex engines, all facing forward! I was hoping for some kind of "sucker hole" or even some light cloud cover but it turned out to be an afternoon of very dark clouds. 1)FXE 4686, 4062, 4677 and 4670 approach Palmer Lake. 2)Surprised to find a BNSF Southbound Windmill blade train stopped in the "sag", I tried the best that I could do to get both trains together. Way in the background, the snow covered mountain is Pikes Peak. 3)Heading North on Main #2 approaching Larkspur. Mucho Gracias for looking:} Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/23/14 19:46 by SP8595. Now, does any one have any guess, when they will be heading south? I figure that they will load some time, Thurs. I am guessing that they will load at Venango, NE. It would be nice if the head two units would be the head end power going south. Little nicer paint. I am guessing that they will have to why some units at Sterling. I can't recall any place on the NKC for turning. Let's hope that they do not add a BNSF engine!!!!! If they do, let's put on the DPU's. Gary A. Nice pix - They had better turn at least one of those motors in Denver or there will be problems out east, turning on the Brush, CO Wye would be good for two hours, but no wye at all any more in Sterling, CO, and no way to turn on NKCR until way east at the Gerald Gentleman Power Plant near Sutherland, NE. === === = === JLH
