Warm with Thunderstorm and Work Window
Author: Ritzville

Today started out warm in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub at 83 degrees. Then in the afternoon a windy thunderstorm with lots of lightning and thunder sending the temperature from 83 to 64 degrees in about 20 minutes. With there being a work window from 0800 to 1400, there was only one train and that was late #27 Empire Builder. After 1400hrs and after the thunderstorm hit lightning must of hit the signal system, trains were only running at 20mph restricted speed. That has now been cleared up. Here are some of today's trains.

1.WB 1124am #27 Empire Builder with 61 on the point about 6hrs late.
2. 61 thru the trees.
3. 306pm thunderstorm rolling into Ritzville, WA.

Unfortunately, we got more lightning and thunder and 45-50mph winds than we did rain with only .06 of an inch. Spokane and points north got hit really hard with hail, heavy rain and 67mph winds, knocking down many trees on top of houses and cars. We lucked out here with no damage.

Ritzville, now all you need is to get a video mounted on your porch like the Dunsmuir cam, seems you have a great spot there!
