Damn that looks like an Onion article, especially the 4th Ave Underpants comment. I know Tucson just opened a streetcar line and it drew something like 17000 first day. If thie is a real article, well, damn. Otherwise, well done wjpyper :o)

Its a fake article. The streetcars are called SunLink. Also, another clue its fake: Why would a local Tucson paper print a Associated Press article about an event in town? They would have the story written by their own reporter. See the below link to the real story.

Just for the record, I thought it was damn funny myself. Reminds me of the Salt Lake Union Trolley (SLUT) shirts they sell in Utah.

And the one they actually named, "South Lake Union Trolley" in Seattle. Then they realized what they had done. It was too late. The damage had been done.

Ah the SLUT. Define "damage".
They got sensational publicity and probably did not lose a single rider and gave many of us not-quite-fully mature people a laugh.
But don't make a habit of it.

The article itself is pretty dangled funny as written.
