Coors C988 C989 + new loco at Colorado Railroad Museum
Author: NH2006

A few interesting things in Golden yesterday...

1. C989 resting at work

2. C988 no longer at Coors, now in the Colorado Railroad Museum, not sure I heard about this

3. Another recent acquisition from Standard Oil?

Actually, these are locomotives the museum has had. They have been shuffling equipment around for a while. They are refurbishing cars and locomotive(s) and also are placing equipment in different locations.

Oh, didn't realize they had the Coors loco. Wonder why the Standard Oil loco is on a trailer as well.

Looks like C988 took a pretty good whack to the cab end--looks like impact damage to the steps, the end handrails are gone, and I don't see a coupler. Premature retirement?

Is that the one the Great Western crew wrecked?

The tank engine "Lulubelle" was a participant Saturday in the Buffalo Bill Days parade in Golden where it won honors for the Best Float. The Coors switcher has been at CRRM for many years and had been up next to the main building. As was mentioned there are many pieces of equipment that are being shuffled around the property after years of being in the same location. Next up is to move the U.P. diner and coach to the track between the library and main building. Should look great there.
