Nitty Gritty in the Columbia River Gorge

Not much moving on the UP side of the Gorge this morning, but i was able to catch this meet between an MLVHK & an OEOT5 at Mosier Oregon. The MLVHK (Longview Jct, WA. to Hinkle) is to the best of my knowledge, the former MPSHK symbol originating from interchange with the Puget Sound & Pacific.
Seen below 6453 takes the siding at MP 69 on the Portland Sub running 3x0 (with UP 1483 third out) & 82 cars.

There were four of these Ex BNSF/Ex TR boxes in train I hadn't seen before with ARR reporting marks & a look at UP 211039 following close behind...

Now on to the Nitty Gritty, as further down the line the MPDNP approaches Rowena running 3x2 with 90 cars.
Two photos follow showcasing the work of an obvious Shirley Ellis fan & the exotic UP 9383.

Nice day for a trip up the Gorge, 494... I got to see the M-LVHK when it was grinding up the Graham line at about 7:25am this morning riding MAX by it.. I was wondering what train had 2 regular units and a GP going along for the ride.. I didn't get a chance to see if it had DPU's or not.. Thanks for answering my question!

Played at Mountain Rails Live on the Rio Grande Scenic a few weeks ago. Juice Newton is coming up this weekend. The band rides the train from Alamosa to the venue at the top of La Veta Pass, because there are no roads. Fir was named one of the top ten outdoor venues in the US by USA today a couple of weeks ago.... Here's the band in the club car, and Jeff Hanna jamming with the passengers. Tickets on the club car (ex-IC Mardi Gras) sell out quickly because everyone knows the band rides in the club car....
