Western Railroad Discussion > My Take on CNW 8646 Yesterday

Managed to intercept KG1LAC at Hesperia yesterday after work with CNW 8646 leading. They had stalled on the hill due to a traction motor failure on the third unit which limited my chase options, but allowed for a bunch of photo opportunities. The light was starting to fade (these photos probably wouldn't see the light of day if it was a normal consist), but I can't complain with how things worked out! Here's three images.

1.) DPUs for what started like KLBG3 head north, revealing 8646.
2-3.) Just the usual 3/4 stuff of 8646 and consist. The second unit was an ex-CNW D9 as well.

The crew was pretty baffled as to why so many people were out chasing them!
