West bound intermodal near mile post 552.7 around 3:30pm yesterday. At 29mph the train is going much too fast for the quad copter to do a "clean" pull away.

I know that spot and still photography isn't very good. But your style of drone video is very interesting.

I think the brilliance in your drone videos is the use of the track side sound. I am sure it takes some time in the post processing, but the final result is well worth it.

Highly entertaining once again!
Of note for the trailer fan, you caught a very rare Canadian "Hyndman Transport" trailer at 1:32. This company was bought out by Celedon in 2013, which is a company heavily used by UP.

Hooray, finally a lens other than a fish-eye !!!!

Excellent mix of ground and airborne clips.

Yes great job mixing air, ground and sound.
Which platform did you purchase?

Thanks.

A lot of work but well worth it! Great with the sound, nice varied angles. With those TPIX Tropicana reefers it indicates the ZATLC from Atlanta. Too bad it didn't have a CSX locomotive, fairly common for that train.

Great video, George. You sure are getting some impressive videos with LCRV's eye in the sky! Thanks for sharing another great video clip.

Just a question: I take it that San Tim canyon is now double track? When I last worked the canyon it was 2 main tracks.

George:
Great video. Is you drone capable of lifting a directional mike a few feet below the camera? That might make post production of the sound a little easier. Just a thought.

+1
I especially liked where you cut away from the drone shot to shot going away into that curve. Overall much more interesting than the straight drone video.

It is to bad that they a slowly building houses in the canyon.

Don't know if it can lift a mic or not. I don't think it would matter. The mic would pick up the props buzzing. My ground camcorders pick up the buzzing too. I have to fly a ways away and at least 30-40ft high from my ground camcorders so I don't get the buzzing in the ground shots. The buzzing is really loud.

That was awesome, George!

I can hear the "buzz" of the drone in the distance right at the beginning, which isn't a criticism. but to me, adds realism, especially with your great editing.

Wish you got some pool power for the Tropicana Z!

FYI, I'm doing a little "retro-computing" project right now, and used your video to see how older Macs play it. If there are Mac users who want smoother playback without needing to download this great video, let me know. With George's permission, I can repost it on my personal web space here on TO and use it as a test case.

66,
If that is the case that means the westbound would have to be going against the current, and would need a track warrant?
