Brand-New ES44C4's on the Needles Subdivision
Author: z-trains

Last Saturday, my father and I were at Topock, Arizona, as part of our four-day trip out to the Needles and Seligman subdivisions when a westbound BNSF marine stack train passed with a trio of brand-new consecutively numbered ES44c4's (BNSF 8122, 8123, and 8124) on the point. Scrapping our attempts at getting the bridge, we headed west and hoped that it would come in good light sometime during the day. Between Klinefelter and Goffs, the light did not work in our favor, as it was around high noon, but at Essex, as seen in shot one, the light was perfect for the train as it raced through at 70 MPH. After waiting at the controlled siding in Amboy for a pair of Eastbounds, the train continued west, and we caught it again at Bagdad, Trojan, Siberia, East and West Ash Hill (Not pictured), Lavic, and Nebo, before we called off the chase and drove back to Needles to spend our last day out in the Topock area. For the full video, check out my channel on YouTube, Railfanjunction, and be sure to check for more video posts this week as I sort through the almost 5 hours of footage I shot on that trip.

Cheers,

Zach

I know I am repeating what I have said before but that Southwest part of Calif. on the BNSF is one of the best places to see action on a double track main that is busy and has a variety of trains including Amtrak mostly at night. The throw back to AT&SF lore is legion and well storied and these videos are just super especially since we are seeing brand new road power with the paint drying as they pass us. Thanks for the effort made in sharing these. Love those blue skies as a backdrop.

Ditto all the above. The segment about one minute in, with the train on the 'S' curve, did it for me.
