Western Railroad Discussion > The Mobase Job at workDate: 08/29/14 00:18 The Mobase Job at work Author: DelMonteX While working nearby a few days ago, I heard the Mobase job looking for permission to join the Lakewood sub after working at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis Mcchord), at Lakewood WA (south of Tacoma). The 10 mile an hour track gave me plenty of time to catch up to the train. After a stop at old Dupont for a bite to eat, they continued their back up move to Nisqually and the BNSF Seattle sub.
1) Headed for the over pass at Mounts Rd. Golfers to the right, I-5 to the left. 2) Easing down to Nisqually junction. 3) Dispatcher granted permission to join the main line on signal indication. This train features matching SD75, just a pair of several Warbonnets I saw that day.
5) Derail lined back and the conductor is on his way to the head end. 6) And there off to Tacoma. Nearly 5pm when they left, and catching the train again before it got to Tacoma was impossible. But I did see it later, tied down at 21st St in Tacoma.
8) A little Photoshop work to illustrate the passage of time. 9) Bonus shot, a rare meet on Bridge 14. Well not the rare I guess, just difficult to catch. The 242 was the rear (FRED on the knuckle) and the 251 was the leader.

Congratulations on your award in TRAINS Magazine. Excellent work. :-) BTW. What's all the work going on, on the other side of bridge 14? Paul Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/29/14 08:18 by 4000Class. Date: 08/29/14 08:59 Re: The Mobase Job at work Author: DelMonteX 4000Class Wrote:

It seems strange to me so many cranes of such size are necessary. I'm hoping it's not for some else (taller).
