Western Railroad Discussion > NS 8114 Visits Missouri

Thanks to a heads up from Mr. SP8595, I (along with at-least 2 other TO members) was able to catch Norfolk Southern's Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit, NS 8114, on the point of UP train MHOKC16 West of Jefferson City, MO this evening.

The train didn't run in sunlight as much as I would have hoped, but, it was a fun day chasing the train, and with some pretty good results from new locations.

Enjoy!

1. With a new crew aboard, the train moves West, passing the State Capitol Building in downtown Jefferson City shortly before 6PM
2. About 630PM, the 8114 slowly rounds the corner at CP M140 - Centertown - to go into the siding to meet both AMTK 313 and 316
3. Shortly before 7PM, with little light left, AMTK 66 (AMTK 313) passes the 8114 at CP M142 - Centertown

Three really good ones, Dalton. I'm glad you were able to get the Capitol shot that I missed when I had to take care of an unexpected matter at work late in the day.

The third image is absolutely first rate -- Amtrak and NS Heritage side-by-side, running the Sedalia Sub. To paraphrase the old top 40 radio jingle, "All Heritage, All The Time". (Well, at least for a brief, special moment in time). Standing there with you and Charlie and watching that unfold was special. And you captured it perfectly.

Great seeing you both again, with happy memories of Lance's Galesburg outing back in May, and now this special all-Heritage moment. Hope that when we get together again, such luck will be with us once more. Right now, I'm liking our odds.
