IAIS Silvis Yard
Author: trainboy03

Iowa Interstate's eastbound CBBI-18 with 507 and 150 has pulled up to a stop at the east end of Silvis yard while the SISW and future SIPE power sits on the RIP tracks. Locomotives in National Railway Equipment's (former RI facility) deadlines round out the background. As seen from the IL Route 5 overpass on September 19, 2014.

Nice variety, I'm spotting six or maybe seven Santa Fe colored units.

Nice scene! I even see a couple of Warbonnets back there. That building is new since I was last back there.

You have really good eyes! Congratulations, I didn't even see one on my first look! (But I now agree, six, maybe seven.)

Gee, what changes. I can remember coming in t=from Chicago or Blue Island to the receiving tracks for Kelly Yard and taking our power to the shop for servicing. On the Illinois Division we had to have particular power for the lead units that were equipped with cab signaling equipment.
