The Southland--South End of Colorado's Joint Line

1. A beautiful late Summer day on the south end of the Joint Line. Southbound BNSF 7870 and 8038 lead a re-positioning move of J. B. Hunt containers near the El Paso/Pueblo County Line. The south end of Rampart Range can be seen in the background. Milepost 99, Colorado Springs Subdivision main #1 at 11:02

2. South of Fountain, Colorado, the climate of the region changes and the short grass prairie is replaced by plant life much more adapted to this semi-arid area. Southbound Union Pacific 5008 and 5032 (RDDPU) the empty "Rock Train" makes it was south from the Drennan Industrial Area on the south side of Colorado Springs to UP's Pueblo Yard, where it will turn west on the Tennessee Pass Sub and make its way back to Parkdale, Colorado to reload. Train is made up of 50 cars, 2 side dump cars and 48 hoppers. It is 12:32 and this is Milepost 94.9 on the Colorado Springs Sub Main #1.

3. Northbound 7105 with 4615, 5844 and 1572 dead in consist makes its way north onto the single track mainline at Crews, Colorado. Signals in the background mark the beginning of double track south to Pueblo. The train is Manifest Amarillo to Denver. Milepost 84.2 Pikes Peak Sub Fontaine Blvd. Road Crossing at 15:48
