Flashback to...June 20, 2014
Author: z-trains

My son and I had the opportunity to rail fan the area east of Tucson this past June and were stunned to come across an operation that could have been from 20 years ago, not 2014. In this image, the Union Pacific Wilmot turn headed by 3 immaculate SD40-2's has just finished its work at Benson, AZ dropping off tank cars for the San Pedro Southwestern. It is now headed back west to the outskirts of Tucson with a solid complement of double stack cars headed to the Port of Tucson at Wilmot. In this image, the westbound races across the Cienega trestle at 6AM with only myself and the rattlesnakes to appreciate the novelty of such a scene in this day and age.

For the video of the trip, please go to my son's Youtube page.

Thanks for looking!

Paul
