Three Trains in Kelso, WA - 9/6/14
Author: PennRailVideos

Hi all.

Almost a month ago now, my friend Eric (ReadingT-1 on here) and I visited the Pacific Northwest region for a week. After visiting the Mount Rainier Scenic and the Chehalis-Centralia Railroads, we were along the BNSF Seattle Sub for a short time on I-5 headed south towards the Columbia River Gorge. We pulled over in Kelso with the hopes of catching a southbound Amtrak Cascades train. We found it ironic that we did not see one BNSF train on this line.

1. Here is UP 7933 North with a stack train in tow.

2. Our wish of a Cascades train could have not been more perfectly-timed, with the UP train getting out of the way just second before Amtrak 468 south cruised on past us. We were hoping to see one of the ugly new Cascade cab cars in tow, but we only saw a Phase V cabbage.

3. Finally, another UP stack train heads north.

Good timing on that video! That first Northbound was the IDITAX-02 (Dallas-Tacoma) & the second was a ZBRTM (Brooklyn-Tacoma)...thanks for sharing.
