Western Railroad Discussion > C'mon man...NS 1065 Heritage in SoCal again?

There's already been a lot of coverage of the NS Savannah and Atlanta 1065 coming into LA this morning. But, thanks to updates from several friends and the fact I work near the tracks in Pomona, I had to join the bandwagon. I took an early lunch and headed over to the Temple Ave overpass in western Pomona and after about a 15 minute wait, just before 10:30AM, the IMELBR came into view. Not the most scenic location but it worked out considering the time of day. An NS heritage unit and the Kansas City Royals wildcard win made for a pretty decent day, thanks for looking.

Nice catch, especially leading, in the Midwest on BNSF it has been a trailing unit.

Great location and photo, Bob. I used to hike down to track level there around 1990, back when UP had a spur that took off to the left into some warehouses. I have some pics of ex-WP GP40s switching there, taken during free time between classes at Cal Poly.
