Nice shot! I was just there yesterday. Too bad that train wasn't a day earlier.

Looks like a train load of UP owned box cars coming out of storage. Included in the train are 70 box cars with UP, SP, SSW, CNW, MP, and DRGW reporting marks. The train is going from Glenns Ferry, ID to Roseville, CA. Routing will take it via the Feather River Canyon which will not require additional power to make Roseville. The train is closing in on Salt Lake City now.

Another graffiti express!

Lot's of ex-Golden West Service box cars on the train.

I'm having trouble understanding how a train originating in Glenns Ferry, ID would go through the FRC to get to Roseville?

Gentler route grade wise, plus out of the way of the higher priority trains.

Who said loose car/box car railroading was dead? Probably repoing into Northern California for peak tomato/canning season.
