Railfan Magazine back
Author: skyview

Not sure if this has been posted, if so, I missed it, but I received a new Railfan magazine yesterday. Evidently White River Publications has stepped in and is the new publisher. I hope all goes well, and Railfan magazine will have a new resurgence.

Long discussions on this a month or so ago, but great news that an issue has arrived and best wishes to WRP for taking over and making R&R, RMC, and TRP viable productions.

My copy arrived last Saturday in Oregon. Great to see an excellent magazine back at it, and many thanks to the new guys running the show.

Read the discussions it had ended, but missed the restart with White River.
Happy to see it will continue. I do get Trains Mag as well but good to see Railfan as well. Railfan was my home town magazine, as I was in high school when the 1st issue came out, living in N NJ at the time. I knew all of the folks at Carstens at the time, so Ive always stuck with the subscription and enjoy the magazine.

Is any of the old crew involved or did WRP start over from scratch with an entirely new staff?

Looks like all the staff is more or less the same.

Here's how the staff page now reads:

Publisher: Kevin Eudaly (replacing Henry Carstens)

Editor: Steve Barry

Associate Editor: Otto M. Vondrak (it appears that Walt Lankenau has departed)

Contributing Editors: Michael Burkhart, Jeffrey Terry (same as the last Carstens issue July '14)

Consulting Editor: Alexander Craghead (same as before)

Columnists: Thomas Kelcec, Greg Monroe, George Smerk, Wes Vernon, James Porterfield (same)

Good news and good luck to WRP, "Trains" needs some serious competition.
WRP is a class outfit, publishing two of the finest WP books ever, Ken Meeker and recently Benson, Dorn, Sanders and Stanley's new book.
