Curtis Hill....Belva, OK... revisited
Author: mp208

A beautiful, but windy, Sunday morning (October 26) found me, once again, on my favorite knoll at the bottom of Curtis Hill on the BNSF transcon. This, hard to get to, spot is midway between Belva and Heman interlockings. Recent rains have created "canyons" on the red dirt cow path up to the spot. Arrival was at sunrise (7:40 am) and departure at 1:50 pm.
During this period 26 trains passed by at speed. Consists included four mixed, one rack, and 21 Stacker/pigs.

The three photos are all westbounds starting the climb out of the river bottom

The hill doesn't appear to be bothering that train.

You did well with 26 trains. I was on the hill earlier in the week.
