My Montana "Misadventure" Day 9
Author: Milw_E70

I finally complete Day 9 so here's even more MRL for those still watching.

1. BNSF 6327 leads an empty Boardman, OR coal train through East Austin.
2. A Dash 9, SD70MAC, and an ES44C4 ease this 78 car H PASKCK over Skyline Trestle.
3. The crew on the ML added a 4 unit helper set to the head end at Elliston and follow the PASKCK over the mountain.

4. Switching over to Greenhorn Trestle, the LM heads west with a pair of new SD70ACes on the point.
5. BNSF 8552 and an ES44AC pull a Tacoma bound grain load up the grade east of Austin.
6. Heading east, we catch back up to the ML at Townsend after a meet with a westbound grain train.

7. Racing onward, we catch the ML as it rolls through Lombard Canyon.
8. Again in Lombard Canyon.
9. The train snakes through the canyon and into the siding at Lombard for a meet with two westbounds.

10. The first westbound eases on through the canyon and on to Helena.
11. A Boeing special follows closely behind the manifest with a Citirail leading.

One more day to go and then the long, depressing trip home begins. More to come and as usual, thanks for looking!

Great bunch! Especially like the up high ones as well, man, sharp curves in that canyon and great catch on the single CREX and Boeings.

Gorgeous shots of Lombard Canyon - I haven't been there since they took out the semaphores. Nice to see it from above! === === = === JLH

20-25 every 24 hours depending on MOW windows is the average. I never bothered to count how many we were averaging during daylight.

No snakes on the ridge on the west side of the canyon though on the first day of the trip we came upon a rattler down in the north end of the canyon but it minded it's own business.
