Western Railroad Discussion > FallDate: 10/30/14 19:21 Fall Author: twjurgens Two of my favorite things are in the first shot, railroads and fall in Nebraska. The view looks north on the east side of Ashland. The double track in the foreground is the line from Plattsmouth to Lincoln. The line in the background is from Omaha and merges with the line from Plattsmouth out of view to the left. The line to Sioux City diverges from the Plattsmouth line and crosses the line from Omaha, again out of view to the left. The colors and cornfield ready to be harvested are sure signs of fall!!
The 2nd shot is BNSF5758 and 9579 are eastbound with a coal load at Waverly. Fall is evident in this shot too with the colors and partially harvested bean field. The farmer was about a quarter mile behind me. Harvesting beans kicks up lots of dust! Colors will probably not last much longer. Colder and windy weather is headed this way.; |
