Whats the story behind this car?

I think this was to demonstrate the loading and damage that could be caused from rough handling.

What name do you use to search for the slide.
All I got was model box cars.

You need to get 'slides' in the search category and then enter UP Boxcar. Would be in completed listings now, which are only accessed by Ebay members. Easy way to get into the slide category is pull up any railroad slide and click on slides at the top where the search progression is.

This one sold for $6.17, five bidders.

I have a DVD of a see through boxcar from the 50s showing a hard coupling and the contents moving. Think it was from Santa Fe. Came in a box of DVDs from SAMs Club
