Western Railroad Discussion > Highlights From Around KCDate: 12/20/14 12:55 Highlights From Around KC Author: CP_M260 I haven't been out railfanning much in the last few weeks, but, I've managed to catch a few interesting or otherwise 'noteable' trains in and around Kansas City.
Here are some of the highlights. Enjoy! 1. NS 8098 - CRQ Heritage Unit - returns to NS' Avondale Yard, after dropping off it's consist at UP's 18th Street Yard in Kansas City, KS - seen here at CP K001 Hickory Street in Kansas City, MO - 12/08/14 2. KCS GP40-2LW 2919 leads a transfer from the KCS/CP joint agency to NS' Avondale Yard, seen here at 10th Street in North Kansas City, MO - 12/12/14 3. Led by SD70ACe 9011, BNSF train O TOPBIR1 14A rounds the corner at 27th Street, and takes the connector to the Ft. Scott Subdivision - Kansas City, MO - 12/14/14 Date: 12/20/14 12:57 Re: Highlights From Around KC Author: MoPac82 Awesome Shots, Dalton!
Date: 12/20/14 12:59 Re: Highlights From Around KC Author: CP_M260 4. & 5. Operating as train B SHKC17, the KCS 2014 Holiday Express made its way through Mid-Western Missouri on Wednesday 12/17, with KCS' sharp looking executive FP9s as power. I was able to catch the train at two locations along KCS' Pittsburg Subdivision - Amoret, MO (Photo 4), and from the MO Rte. J Highway Bridge at South Amsterdam, MO (Photo 5).
Thanks for looking, and Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone on Train Orders! -Dalton Date: 12/20/14 13:35 Re: Highlights From Around KC Author: ddg Those F's are really looking good. The nose door treatment really enhances the front end. The chrome hand rails, the extra headlight, the logo, man it all works for me. I think it looks a lot better than no nose door at all on the UP E9's.
