UP Granite turn question.
Author: upheritage6

The week after Christmas i am going to Cheyenne. I was just curious to when the Granite turn went west out of Cheyenne and the stops it makes.
Thanks!

The Granite turn is what all ballast trains that run to Granite are called. No schedule, no stops. When there's a ballast train that needs loaded, whether BNSF or UP, it goes west as soon as it can.

It was also the switcher last summer that tied onto the Frontier Days passenger special in the depot in Cheyenne and pulled the train backwards around the wye at Speer.
