Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Coal Train, MRL Helpers, Bozeman Pass, MTDate: 01/20/15 07:13 BNSF Coal Train, MRL Helpers, Bozeman Pass, MT Author: MrMRL From my June 2012 trip. With the glint of the morning sun, a 5 unit set of MRL helpers tacked into the middle of a 15,000+ ton BNSF coal train, attacking the east grade of Bozeman Pass outside of Livingston, MT.
Let's wake the neighbors, turn those sound systems up to 11! Captured in 1080p at 30fps, on a handheld Canon SX1 IS. Clips then run through iMovie 10 to stabilize, add transitions, and titles. Date: 01/20/15 15:40 Re: BNSF Coal Train, MRL Helpers, Bozeman Pass, MT Author: fbe There is no PTC on the MRL now and no plans to install. MRL is not a Class 1 railroad and so is exempt at this time from PTC.

Yeah, based on the lack of any visible exhaust heat, and the slight audible difference, I think 262 was just riding this trip isolated.
